Coleman Carle had already obtained the rank of Black Belt in Shim Pu Ren from John Kraemer when he began training in Shaolin Kenpo. He currently holds a 6th Degree Black Belt in that system.

He trained from white belt to 1st Brown with the Skinner family until Aberdeen Kenpo Karate closed in 2001.

Following the closure of Aberdeen Kenpo Karate, Coleman finished up and obtained his Black Belt from Sifu Ben Galeana in May of 2002.

Coleman also possesses the rank of Nidan (2nd Degree) in Matsumura Shorin Ryu under Shihan Drake Sass.
